    First 36SE
    Where performance meets purpose

The BENETEAU First SE range builds on the legendary racing heritage of the FIRST, infused with Seascape DNA. It thrives through a passionate community of sailors who seek adventure, embrace nature, and push beyond their limits.

Meet the newest member of the First SE range: the First 36 SE (Seascape Edition).

Designed for ultimate high-speed sailing experience she is a pure planning racer while being optimized for competitive ORC racing.
The First 36 SE is a game-changer for those who love high-performance sailing.

Whether you’re looking to push the limits in ORC racing or simply experience the pure joy of planing, this boat delivers in every way.

    Why First 36 SE ?

    The Ultimate Planing Experience
Feel the exhilaration of high-performance planing, where speed and control unite. With every gust, the First 36 SE accelerates effortlessly, offering an unmatched connection to the elements— pure, wind-powered sailing joy.

    Optimized for ORC Racing
The First 36 SE has been meticulously engineered by a world-class team, including Samuel Manuard and Maurizio Cossutti, to maximize ORC racing potential. Every aspect—from hull shape to cockpit layout, keel design, and displacement—has been refined for speed, balance, and an improved handicap rating.

    Functionality Meets Performance
While built for dynamic sailors, the First 36 SE retains the practical functionality of the original First 36. Her optimized cockpit and interior offer all the essentials for life onboard, making her an excellent choice for both competitive racing and adventure cruising.

    Unrivaled Handling
Constructed with a fully cored, vacuum-infused hull, deck, bulkheads, and interior components, the First 36 SE is exceptionally light and stiff. She is 400 kg (881 pounds) lighter than the standard First 36, thanks to innovative material optimization, ensuring superior speed and handling.

    SAILING EXPERIENCE
The First 36 SE is designed to provide an unparalleled connection to the ancient art of sailing. Every element has been fine-tuned to transform wind into pure sailing joy.

To enhance responsiveness, we replaced steering wheels with a tiller, added soft, non-skid technical foam in the cockpit, and reduced weight by an additional 400 kg (881 pounds). The hull has also been refined, decreasing wetted surface area by nearly 3 m² (32,3 square foot). The result? Arguably the fastest and most exhilarating 36-ft production boat on the market.

    LIVING ONBOARD
The First 36 SE maintains the same spacious three-cabin layout, salon, and living areas as the First 36 but with race-focused refinements. Every detail has been reimagined for sailors who prioritize planing and competition without sacrificing basic onboard comfort.

Key upgrades include lightweight carbon companionway stairs, carbon fiddles replacing traditional wood, and removable crew bags instead of wooden lockers. Lee cloth nets enhance safety for sleeping under sail, while optimized storage and other smart innovations ensure a perfect balance between performance and functionality.

    A Passionate Sailing Community
First SE is more than just a boat—it’s a mindset. She brings together a tight-knit community of dedicated sailors who live for adventure, competition, and the simple joy of sailing. With the First 36 SE, sailing isn’t just a sport; it’s a way of life.
